The kickoff party was a resounding success with the largest turnout we have ever had with over 50 people in attendance. The silent auction raised the most money ever with $875 raised. Many thanks to Laura Van House and Randy and Milton Crewse for the silent auction items.

With the silent auction funds and donations that have come in, we are over $4,000 in donations. We are off to our best start ever. Thanks to all that have got their donations in early, for the rest of you however, the time is now to make your donation. With Thanksgiving early this year on 11/22 and the delivery to First Mesa early on 12/15, I will need to purchase the basket items early this year. We have been asked by the Tewa community to provide 80 baskets this year, so get those check books out sooner than later!  Information on how to make a donation online and where to send your checks to is below. I would ask if it is at all possible for donations to be made by check. PayPal takes 2.5% to process a donation. We keep our expenses to just 5%, the amount that Cornucopia charges for the accounting for our account, which is a great deal both for us and the Tewa community. It does not get any better than that.

We are still waiting for the coat gender and size and color information from First Mesa Elementary to get the First Mesa Elementary Winter Coat Drive up and running. I am hoping to have that online by the 10th of November. Stay tuned.

I have updated the schedule of events to now include the location for the storage of our items and basket preparation and pick up. We are very fortunate to get the same location as we had last year right next door to my office at 150 State Hwy 179, Suite 2. That is just down from the Y on Hwy 179, next door to Red Rock Bar B Que.

Our lease for the space starts on 11/10 so you can start getting your gently used winter clothing to me at that time. Remember we really like the items in banker boxes best, but other boxes that are not too big work good to. Big black plastic bags get too heavy and are hard to pack.

I have talked to La Posada and they have told me as of this date they have 21 rooms available, IT IS NOT TOO EARLY TO CALL AND MAKE YOUR RESERVATION, LAST YEAR THEY WERE FULL. Call La Posada at 928-289-4366 to reserve your room.
